All questions
What is Operant?
Operant is an AI workforce platform. You hire AI colleagues, each with a name, role, personality and voice, who share one memory of everything your team tells them, chat or talk with you live, and act inside your tools.
What is an AI colleague?
An AI colleague is an AI agent with a defined job, like Chief of Staff, Revenue Ops or Research Analyst. You write its role and instructions, choose its voice, and it works alongside your team in chat and on voice calls.
How is Operant different from ChatGPT or Claude?
Chat assistants forget context between people and sessions. Operant gives your whole workspace one shared, growing memory, multiple specialised colleagues, live voice, team roles and tool connections, and lets you pick models from OpenAI, Anthropic and Google per conversation.
How does shared memory work?
After each conversation Operant extracts lasting facts, decisions and preferences and stores them as workspace memory. Colleagues search that memory automatically before answering, so knowledge compounds instead of disappearing. You can review, edit and delete memories at any time.
Can I talk to my AI colleagues by voice?
Yes. Start a live voice call with any colleague from the browser. You can interrupt naturally, and the colleague hands harder questions to a reasoning model you choose, then answers out loud.
Which AI models can I use?
GPT-6 Astra and GPT-6.1 Sol from OpenAI, Claude Opus 5.5, Claude Sonnet 5 and Claude Fable 5.1 from Anthropic, and Gemini 4 Argon and Gemini 3.8 Flash from Google. You choose the model and reasoning effort for each conversation.
What is reasoning effort?
Reasoning effort controls how long a model thinks before answering. Low is fast and cheap for everyday questions; high and max think longer for analysis, planning and tricky problems.
Do I need API keys?
No. Models are included and run through Operant. You don't need accounts with OpenAI, Anthropic or Google.
Which tools does Operant connect to?
Team integrations include GitHub, Slack, Linear, Notion, email sending and webhooks. Admins connect them once for the whole workspace; colleagues can then use them, and actions that change things ask for confirmation first.
Is my workspace data kept separate?
Yes. Every colleague, memory, message and integration belongs to one workspace, and database-level access rules stop anyone outside that workspace from reading or changing it. Integration tokens are never visible to members.
Who can create or change colleagues?
Workspace owners and admins can hire, edit, archive and delete colleagues. Members can chat and talk with them but cannot reshape the team.
How do I invite my team?
Admins invite people by email as a Member or Admin. Each invite is a single-use link that expires after 7 days and only works for the invited email address.
Can I belong to several workspaces?
Yes. You can create or join multiple workspaces and switch between them from the sidebar. Each has its own colleagues, memory and integrations.
Does Operant work on phones and tablets?
Yes. The app adapts to phones, tablets and laptops, including full-screen voice calls on phones.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. Starter is free forever: 1 workspace for up to 3 members, 2 AI colleagues, 150 chat messages per member per month, reasoning up to low and 50 shared memories. Live voice is not included.
How much does Operant cost?
Starter is free. Pro is $29 per member per month or $290 per year. Team is $79 per member per month or $790 per year. Yearly billing gives you 2 months free. Enterprise pricing is custom.
What's included in Pro?
Unlimited AI colleagues, 2,500 chat messages and 120 live voice minutes per member each month, every model with reasoning up to high, 2,500 shared memories and team integrations.
What's included in Team?
Everything in Pro, plus 8,000 chat messages and 500 live voice minutes per member each month, reasoning up to max, 25,000 shared memories, admin controls and priority support.
How do usage limits work?
Chat messages and voice minutes are counted per member, so one person's heavy use never blocks a teammate. Each member's allowance resets on the 1st of every month. Shared memories are counted for the whole workspace.
What happens if I reach my limit?
When you use all your messages or voice minutes for the month, Operant tells you and stops that feature for you until the 1st. Teammates keep working. A workspace owner can upgrade to a higher plan for a bigger allowance.
Can AI colleagues take actions without asking?
Read-only actions like searching memory or GitHub happen automatically. Actions that change things (posting to Slack, creating issues, sending email or triggering webhooks) require your confirmation.
Can I write my own colleague personalities?
Yes. Give each colleague a name, role, department, personality, standing instructions and voice. Operant can also draft a personality for a role in one click.
Who builds Operant?
Operant is built by SentiVue.
How do I get started?
